Maxime Durand made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Carmine Cavanna sent off a good shot on target. Ermanno Lalli might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxime Durand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermanno Lalli ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabio Rondinelli hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Peletier to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Peletier got free with Demetrio Greco in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ermanno Lalli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maxime Durand read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Demetrio Greco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Camille Baume in the 64th minute. Frank Peletier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Demetrio Greco made a huge save. Laykers's Ermanno Lalli got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Demetrio Greco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camille Baume in the 77th minute of play. Demetrio Greco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camille Baume, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Domenico Di Girolamo, 87 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Ermanno Lalli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxime Durand having to interfere.
