If István Juhász had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hungary's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antal Valentin in the 8th minute. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 13th minute of play forced Gyál United's goalkeeper Mihály Földesi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gyál United's Mihály Földesi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 18th minute of play. Mihály Földesi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balazs Lajos, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gyál United's Mihály Földesi. Mihály Földesi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihály Földesi having to interfere. After having played for 33 minutes, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antal Valentin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mihály Földesi. Gyál United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antal Valentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Boros Benedek kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Gyál United's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Mihály Földesi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihály Földesi having to interfere. After the first half Hungary were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Hungary's Antal Valentin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mihály Földesi. That made the score 0-3 after 52 minutes of play. Hungary's Balazs Lajos was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 57th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 60th minute, Antal Valentin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Gyál United's goalkeeper Mihály Földesi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Antal Valentin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Takacs Tibor kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Gyál United's Mihály Földesi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Gyál United from getting a goal against them. Gyál United's Mihály Földesi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 70th minute of play. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Antal Valentin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mihály Földesi. That made the score 0-5 in the 74 minute of play. Antal Valentin struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Mihály Földesi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. Csaba Kossuth kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
