Zacarías Batistuta was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Conceição's players had a chance to rest. Kenn Skou tried in the 14th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Keld Paulsen a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. In the 17th minute, SC Conceição's Florentino Cedro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Cedro in the 20th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flávio Terra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertram Svenningsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Florentino Cedro came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flávio Terra was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Florentino Cedro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florentino Cedro struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Keld Paulsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Conceição. The supporters of Denmark booed when SC Conceição was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joãozinho Amigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florentino Cedro in the 56th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, SC Conceição's Florentino Cedro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keld Paulsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florentino Cedro in the 66th minute of play. After 67 played minutes SC Conceição got a freekick which was hit by Mustafa Ekrem İmruz. The SC Conceição fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when SC Conceição's Florentino Cedro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Keld Paulsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florentino Cedro went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Florentino Cedro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Cedro in the 88th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florentino Cedro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Conceição fans cheered their team off the field, for while Denmark had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
