Spectators: 8596 (Terracing: 6450, Seating: 1974, VIP seats: 172) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ulu Şavat kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the match, Nevşehirspor's goalkeeper İrfan-Can Eğribayat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aníbal Paes. İrfan-Can Eğribayat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ademar Mendes's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when Nevşehirspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paşa Candaner didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joaquim Marques got free with İrfan-Can Eğribayat in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. İrfan-Can Eğribayat came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Várzea F.C.'s Aníbal Paes. But to his dismay, Aníbal Paes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Tanju Çolak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rd match minute, Nevşehirspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paşa Candaner to maneuver through the defense. Nevşehirspor's İrfan-Can Eğribayat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Marques in the 25th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Tanju Çolak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Nevşehirspor's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Paes came free, but İrfan-Can Eğribayat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquim Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but İrfan-Can Eğribayat made a huge save. Nevşehirspor's İrfan-Can Eğribayat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Mendes in the 43rd minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joaquim Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. İrfan-Can Eğribayat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubinho Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Rubinho Queirós's late challenge caught a Nevşehirspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
