But to his dismay, Turgut Soyuer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 7 minutes into the match, Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Meinhardt came free, but Cankut Wakabayashi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute Turgut Soyuer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans-Jürgen Pötscher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Austria getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Johannes Stein hit a great ball. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Turgut Soyuer, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute, Turgut Soyuer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 23 minutes into the match, Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Steckamp came free, but Cankut Wakabayashi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Turkey's Cankut Wakabayashi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Turkey from getting a goal against them. Turkey's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Servet Sönmez in the 28th minute. In the 28th minute, Halim Talat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Turkey's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Matthias Zahn scored to the left of an out of position Cankut Wakabayashi, making the score, 1-2. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turgut Soyuer in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Turgut Soyuer in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hans-Jürgen Pötscher saved Austria from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Turgut Soyuer in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hans-Jürgen Pötscher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cankut Wakabayashi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robin Steckamp in the 44th minute. A collision led to Austria getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Johannes Stein hit a great ball. Turgut Soyuer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hans-Jürgen Pötscher having to make a save. 46 minutes into the match, Turgut Soyuer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hans-Jürgen Pötscher. Austria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Turgut Soyuer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The Austria players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Turkey were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Turgut Soyuer to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the game, Halim Talat landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Turkey made a substitution. Zé Dos Reis replaced Halim Talat. Johannes Stein kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, Austria's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Dos Reis came free, but Hans-Jürgen Pötscher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Steckamp came free, but Cankut Wakabayashi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Dos Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Austria's Torben Krabber was substituted for Sebastian Dirkes. Austria made a substitution. Daniel Tschida replaced Robin Steckamp. Turkey's Arman Ersan quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Philip Ibertsberger, made in the 64th minute of the game. With a little luck, Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher got control of the ball when Turgut Soyuer tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Zé Dos Reis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Turgut Soyuer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turkey's supporters rose to their feet, but Turgut Soyuer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cankut Wakabayashi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Tschida in the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Turgut Soyuer in the 79th minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Hans-Jürgen Pötscher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Austria defense, Turgut Soyuer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hans-Jürgen Pötscher. The Austria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hans-Jürgen Pötscher should have stopped the shot. Turgut Soyuer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adib Ovi got a throw-in 90 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Philip Ibertsberger. 92 minutes into the match, Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Tschida came free, but Cankut Wakabayashi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Tschida spun around in front of the goal 93 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Turkey's goal. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was a little too slow when Turgut Soyuer got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 1-6. The Turkey supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Turkey would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
