With an all-out effort, Brujas KV's Arnout Reekers threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from David Rios, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Adolfo Grau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Adolfo Grau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. David Rios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustaaf Groeneveldt to maneuver through the defense. Thorvald Egfjord kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Grau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Adolfo Grau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 40th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adolfo Grau. That made the score 0-2 after 75 minutes of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 81st minute. Adolfo Grau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Eikelkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute, Esteban Eleazar made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thorvald Egfjord in the 88th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Brujas KV fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
