After 12 played minutes Los Trip got a freekick which was hit by José Augusto Peres. 14 minutes into the match, Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Capello. After having played for 20 minutes, David Aranda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spain's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Aranda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pau Herrero was the one to do the kick off.
