After 3 minutes of play, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gigi Buffon was left in no man's land by his defense there! 7 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gigi Buffon. Syrianska FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 13th minute of the match. Syrianska FC's Gigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 15th minute of play. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 17th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edward Vanderstraeten in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigi Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigi Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Guillaume Bonte got a throw-in 21 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Yves Dervaux. Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 25 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Vanderstraeten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute, Elliot McNamara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 29 played minutes, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gigi Buffon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Belgium reached it. After 32 minutes, Guillaume Bonte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Belgium and the Syrianska FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Belgium's Guillaume Bonte got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 35th minute of play forced Syrianska FC's goalkeeper Gigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigi Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manfred Majman in the 38th minute. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sakarias Nordstedt in the 44th minute of the match. Billy Lång kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

Gigi Buffon made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. 56 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Manfred Majman came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Syrianska FC's Gigi Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Syrianska FC from getting a goal against them. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jimmy Hjälm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Claes having to interfere. Syrianska FC made a substitution. Rickard Örtendahl replaced Henric Brun. 78 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gigi Buffon. Syrianska FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yves Dervaux got free with Gigi Buffon in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Belgium players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
