The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FC Nordsjælland's Andreas Hansen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Balazs Lajos in the 5th minute of play. Svenåge Ellefsen charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Svenåge Ellefsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Hungary booed when FC Nordsjælland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Svenåge Ellefsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Nordsjælland's Jeppe Tverskov was substituted for Paul Caniggia. Balazs Lajos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Andreas Hansen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Major Barna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute, Major Barna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andreas Hansen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Andreas Hansen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 85th minute of the match. Takacs Tibor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Andreas Hansen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Antal Valentin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andreas Hansen. The goal made the score 0-8. Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
