Daniele Bevilacqua was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. If Daniele Bevilacqua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pär Are took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Alfredo Zuccarini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carmine Belardi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniele Bevilacqua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniele Bevilacqua in the 32nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pär Are having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carmine Belardi was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Carmine Belardi came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pär Are showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Meesters in the 56th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Montechiarugolo AFC's goalkeeper Pär Are, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute Carmine Belardi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pär Are having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 76th minute of play forced Montechiarugolo AFC's goalkeeper Pär Are to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pär Are quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pär Are having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Montechiarugolo AFC's goalkeeper Pär Are had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. Pär Are showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 83rd minute of the match. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Montechiarugolo AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Lars Meesters made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Montechiarugolo AFC's Pär Are managed to reach the ball for a save. Montechiarugolo AFC's Kuzey Sudi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mathijn Doctor, made in the 86th minute of the game. After 92 minutes Montechiarugolo AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Netherlands played a much better game than Montechiarugolo AFC and deserved their victory. The Montechiarugolo AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
