Blas Colas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 7th minute of the match. Blas Colas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Tiburcio Marques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Blas Colas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Portugal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felipe Barreto in the 21st minute. It was a well-played corner which Graciano Coutinho managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Tiburcio Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. Blas Colas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipe Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Blas Colas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Tiburcio Marques made the kick off in the second half. A throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game was made by Bruno Bastos with Daniel Pimentel as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Blas Colas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Tiburcio Marques sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Ricardo Chepe was substituted for Waclaw Gniech. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Ovidio Marin was substituted for Cesar Quinto. Blas Colas made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Jorge Joachim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. A collision led to ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Javier Mazuste hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipinho Amorim got free with Blas Colas in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Joachim in the 85th minute of play. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's Jorge Joachim. But to his dismay, Jorge Joachim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Blas Colas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 92nd minute of play. After 92nd play minutes Bartolomeu Dias shot 4-2, a short shot which went by Blas Colas and just under the crossbar into goal. Ovidio Marin scored 5-2 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
