An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 32nd minute of play forced Dr Lecter SC's goalkeeper Celso Trevisan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Trevisan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 33rd minute of play. After 38 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Graciano Coutinho. Corneliu Dridu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 44 minutes, Felipe Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Barreto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 minutes, Omid Kaulbach mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dr Lecter SC and the Portugal players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Omid Kaulbach to maneuver through the defense. Frédson Lira hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 89 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Raul Caetano. 91 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolomeu Dias came free, but Celso Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipinho Amorim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Celso Trevisan made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipinho Amorim got free with Celso Trevisan in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
