The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the game, Pepito Plasencia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Puerto Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Almeyra F.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, Club Puerto Quito's Pepito Plasencia got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Urki Espino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Club Puerto Quito's Urbes Cenzano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Club Puerto Quito from getting a goal against them. After 17 played minutes Club Puerto Quito got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Noceda. Froilan Llorian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urki Espino in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute Urki Espino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Llorian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Froilan Llorian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepito Plasencia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24thth minute of the game Pepito Plasencia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Almeyra F.C.'s Froilan Llorian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Froilan Llorian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepito Plasencia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Puerto Quito's Urbes Cenzano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Incendio in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Barrionuevo in the 32nd minute of play forced Almeyra F.C.'s goalkeeper Froilan Llorian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Froilan Llorian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pepito Plasencia in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Club Puerto Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Incendio came free, but Urbes Cenzano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pepito Plasencia got in the 36th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Froilan Llorian handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Urki Espino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Froilan Llorian having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Club Puerto Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Azpiazu to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Urbes Cenzano managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Almeyra F.C.'s Alejo Kaxen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 46 minutes into the match, Almeyra F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Oswaldo Barrionuevo came free, but Froilan Llorian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oswaldo Barrionuevo made a kick off. When Albino Aztore fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Almeyra F.C.'s protests and gave Albino Aztore a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd match minute, Almeyra F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albino Aztore to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Anier Ortzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Almeyra F.C.'s Zeledon Incendio got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 65 minutes in the game, Pepito Plasencia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Froilan Llorian having to interfere. Arturo Azpiazu hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Incendio in the 70th minute of play forced Club Puerto Quito's goalkeeper Urbes Cenzano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Froilan Llorian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Noceda in the 73rd minute of the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Oswaldo Barrionuevo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Puerto Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswaldo Barrionuevo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Almeyra F.C. getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Anier Ortzi hit a great ball. In the 77th minute, Zeledon Incendio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Urbes Cenzano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Zeledon Incendio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Froilan Llorian made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Oswaldo Barrionuevo sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Club Puerto Quito's Froilan Llorian threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Urki Espino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Pepito Plasencia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th of the match, Oswaldo Barrionuevo tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Froilan Llorian got in the way and made a wonderful save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Club Puerto Quito players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Almeyra F.C..
