Fragleses's Jaroslaw Blochowiak got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Norbert Major sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norbert Major got free with Kim Hänninen in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute Jaroslaw Blochowiak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Xoxe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastião Xoxe came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Fragleses's Jaroslaw Blochowiak. But to his dismay, Jaroslaw Blochowiak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Norbert Major fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Hänninen having to interfere. A collision led to Fragleses getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Jacek Zielinski hit a great ball. Sebastião Xoxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roch Dejo in the 35th minute of the match. If Norbert Major had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kim Hänninen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norbert Major, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Sebastião Xoxe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiktor Gomolka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute of the match Fragleses got a corner. Pogoń Szczecin's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaroslaw Blochowiak ran over to the corner to take the kick. Kim Hänninen made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Norbert Major sent off a good shot on target. Norbert Major's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kim Hänninen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 54th minute of the match Anselmo Doris shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kim Hänninen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Stefanos Stefanopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Kim Hänninen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastião Xoxe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaroslaw Blochowiak in the 63rd minute. Sebastião Xoxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roch Dejo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roch Dejo got free with Sebastião Xoxe in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kim Hänninen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Norbert Major went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Fragleses made a substitution. Waldemar Wojtowicz replaced Olaf Wojtowicz. Sebastião Xoxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zlatko Ibrahimović in the 82nd minute of the match. Fragleses made a substitution. Conrado Cardozo replaced Pawel Iwanowski. With his leg Sebastião Xoxe managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Fragleses's Zlatko Ibrahimović fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norbert Major in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kim Hänninen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The corner ended in Conrado Donzel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fragleses's Kim Hänninen did a great save. When the referee blew the final whistle, Pogoń Szczecin could leave the field as winners, despite Fragleses having more of the ball for most of the match.
