Niculae Ungureanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Graciano Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Bernardinho Alagoano got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 16th minute, Ödön Szily made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when David Elodio sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Henning Fink hit a great ball. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when David Elodio tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Henning Fink came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henning Fink couldn't finish the play. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henning Fink, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Portugal's attentive Daniel Pimentel managed to snatch the ball when Bernardinho Alagoano made a throw-in in the 41st minute of the game. In the 45th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andriy Lunin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Andriy Lunin, 1-1. In the 54th minute, Nemanja Vidić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Elodio in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Ödön Szily shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andriy Lunin was a little too slow when Viriato Moura got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-2. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 78th minute of play. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Pimentel took the corner. Faustino Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 83rdth minute of the game Niculae Ungureanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If David Elodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niculae Ungureanu couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Elodio in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. had won after a very even match.
