In the 23rd minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabricio Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Trancoso in the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Felipe Barreto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Serginho Nogueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Demis Katsarolidis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. After a rather tough play, PIAUÍ FC's Paulo Batista got a free kick in the 37th minute. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serginho Nogueira having to make a save. With his leg Serginho Nogueira managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Portugal's Felipe Barreto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 72 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Demis Katsarolidis came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75thth minute of the game Viriato Moura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PIAUÍ FC's Serginho Nogueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Felipinho Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 92 minutes, Serginho Nogueira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 94th minute, Felipinho Amorim made a precise shot to the right of Serginho Nogueira. PIAUÍ FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
