The audience was convinced that Severino Bruggink's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 12th minute Sport Club Abrilense were awarded a corner. Dan Rüdy went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Sport Club Abrilense's Dan Rüdy to fire away a dangerous shot which Tommy Kahn despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 12thth minute of the game Joel Perälä who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Cléber Catarinense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Malte Schiele's late challenge caught a Sport Club Abrilense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With an all-out effort, Sport Club Abrilense's Tommy Kahn threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Severino Bruggink, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Cléber Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Tommy Kahn managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Sport Club Abrilense's Cléber Catarinense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sport Club Abrilense's Cléber Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dan Rüdy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Severino Bruggink might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severino Bruggink ran back to his position shaking his head. 36 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dan Rüdy. Loris Karius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 45th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When Cléber Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Sport Club Abrilense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cléber Catarinense couldn't finish the play. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Loris Karius saved Sport Club Abrilense from getting behind. A collision led to Sport Club Abrilense getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Joel Perälä hit a great ball. Dan Rüdy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Cléber Catarinense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 64th minute Janik Vogt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loris Karius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Mariano Enol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. In the 81st minute, Dan Rüdy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Abrilense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0.
