In the 3rd minute, Cemal Palabıyık got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Viriato Moura notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rega Merida CF's Edmund Kojder. Edmund Kojder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wilson Amorim was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Nistor Sârban capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nistor Sârban really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. 18 minutes into the game, Leonello Messias lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Wilson Amorim. Nistor Sârban kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After having played for 22 minutes, Felipe Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Barreto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nistor Sârban in the 29th minute of the match. Rega Merida CF's Nistor Sârban managed to work through Portugal's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Nistor Sârban dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 32nd minute, Viriato Moura ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edmund Kojder was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Daniel Pimentel took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edmund Kojder. Edmund Kojder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Rega Merida CF's Edmund Kojder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 40th minute of play. When Portugal's Felipe Barreto in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rega Merida CF's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Rega Merida CF's Elpidio Umbruso got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The score stood at 3-3 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nistor Sârban stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Kojder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonello Messias in the 53rd minute of play. Rega Merida CF's Edmund Kojder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 55th minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Viriato Moura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmund Kojder. Rega Merida CF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Viriato Moura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. With a little luck, Rega Merida CF's Edmund Kojder got control of the ball when Felipe Barreto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Portugal's Rodolfo Miranda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edmund Kojder. Edmund Kojder yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-5. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Rega Merida CF made a substitution. Wasyl Dziurowicz replaced Leonello Messias. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Rega Merida CF's Karol Swiderski was substituted for Cemal Palabıyık. Rega Merida CF made a substitution. La Piszczek replaced Filcho Dzhagarov. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nistor Sârban went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-5 was the resulting score. Edmund Kojder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Graciano Coutinho was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Edmund Kojder made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Graciano Coutinho sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 93rd minute of play forced Rega Merida CF's goalkeeper Edmund Kojder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
