Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Daniel Hagedorn made the kick off which started today's match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mirco Kähler in the 5th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Robin Dommröse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Robin Dommröse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robin Dommröse got free with Arnout Reekers in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd match minute, Rapid Wien was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Helbig to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Rapid Wien:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Netherlands:s goal. Rapid Wien:s Alf Tempel showed great skill when he stopped Gijsbert ter Kruimer:s penalty. After 27 played minutes Rapid Wien got a freekick which was hit by Lars Reicher. Alf Tempel came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Hagedorn in the 34th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Rapid Wien got a freekick which was hit by Werner Frach. Alf Tempel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rapid Wien's Alf Tempel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 41st minute of play. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alf Tempel, passed just outside the right post. In the 53rd minute Mirco Kähler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rapid Wien's Lars Reicher got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 62 played minutes Rapid Wien got a freekick which was hit by Uwe Kitzbichler. Gustaaf Groeneveldt was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 63rd minute. Netherlands's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alf Tempel could save by the left post. 70 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Hagedorn came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 minutes, Daniel Hagedorn made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Hagedorn in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Rapid Wien's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Alf Tempel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Rapid Wien fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Rapid Wien's Daniel Hagedorn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 92 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Alf Tempel threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Gijsbert ter Kruimer this time. Alf Tempel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rapid Wien.
