The supporters of Rapid Wien booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germany were furious when Janik Vogt was red carded, 23 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Germany:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rapid Wien:s goal. Chris Mergenthaler kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Robin Dommröse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robin Dommröse got free with Tommy Kahn in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Hagedorn took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 43rd match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulrich Stein to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Hagedorn made a kick off. If Robin Dommröse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The throw-in from Julius Reuter in the 57th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Germany's Adrian Dreifuss. Daniel Hagedorn might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Hagedorn ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mirco Kähler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Daniel Hagedorn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Daniel Hagedorn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robin Dommröse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albin Holweck in the 77th minute of play forced Rapid Wien's goalkeeper Alf Tempel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Germany's corner Frank Sachs fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alf Tempel quite easily take care of the ball. Daniel Hagedorn kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. The supporters of Germany booed when Rapid Wien was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uwe Kitzbichler didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rapid Wien fans cheered their team off the field, for while Germany had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
