Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Utoh Bachdim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodoro Camargo in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Keld Paulsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Keld Paulsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodoro Camargo went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Ali Jegham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 17th minute of play. With a little luck, Denmark's Keld Paulsen got control of the ball when Teodoro Camargo tried to sneak it across the goal line. A.S.Saint Ethiene's Ali Jegham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Steen in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Camargo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Denmark's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because A.S.Saint Ethiene had won, even though Denmark had held more of the ball.
