After a rather tough play, GAUJA's Tālavs Nolmanis got a free kick in the 5th minute. Brencis Dermans came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Maltesholms FF's Peter Tunberg. But to his dismay, Peter Tunberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. GAUJA's Herberts Mendziņš got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carl Norberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guntis Gudelis went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When Henning Strömberg fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maltesholms FF's protests and gave Henning Strömberg a yellow card for diving instead. 28 minutes into the game, one of Maltesholms FF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Carl Norberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guntis Gudelis's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After a rather tough play, Maltesholms FF's Kurt Vennerkvist got a free kick in the 40th minute. Frīdis Smukais might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carl Norberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frīdis Smukais ran back to his position shaking his head. The GAUJA fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when GAUJA's Frīdis Smukais looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Maltesholms FF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. GAUJA were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Frisk to make the kick off. The supporters of GAUJA booed when Maltesholms FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henning Strömberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Romualds Sausais sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Maltesholms FF's Carl Norberg didn't even have to move. In the 63rdth minute of the game Frīdis Smukais who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maltesholms FF's Carl Norberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 66th minute, Guntis Gudelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69thth minute of the game Herberts Mendziņš who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maltesholms FF's Carl Norberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 69 minutes, Herberts Mendziņš made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Maltesholms FF's Carl Norberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Uldis Kuzītis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Carl Norberg made a huge save. 78 minutes into the match, Maltesholms FF's goal looked a bit too open when Frīdis Smukais came free, but Carl Norberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carl Norberg made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Uldis Kuzītis sent off a good shot on target. Carl Norberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guntis Gudelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Guntis Gudelis could shoot a difficult shot in the 85th minute, which Carl Norberg however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romualds Sausais in the 87th minute of play forced Maltesholms FF's goalkeeper Carl Norberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carl Norberg made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Herberts Mendziņš sent off a good shot on target. When GAUJA's Romualds Sausais in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maltesholms FF's goalie prevented a goal. When the final whistle sounded GAUJA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Maltesholms FF.
