Urbes Cenzano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to O rey Iván getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Augusto Burni hit a great ball. Urbes Cenzano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Dei in the 26th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Benito Dei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the O rey Iván and the Club Puerto Quito players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Club Puerto Quito booed when O rey Iván was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Dei didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Club Puerto Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Amador Aragones came free, but Urbes Cenzano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amador Aragones fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbes Cenzano having to interfere. Israel Cesario was a little too slow when Oswaldo Barrionuevo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 2-1. Rodolfo Bonilla struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Israel Cesario didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Puerto Quito. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pepito Plasencia to make the kick off. A collision led to Club Puerto Quito getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Pepito Plasencia hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Bonilla in the 53rd minute of play forced O rey Iván's goalkeeper Israel Cesario to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Amador Aragones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Urbes Cenzano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amador Aragones in the 57th minute of the match. Israel Cesario didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oswaldo Barrionuevo went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. After 64 played minutes O rey Iván got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Mederi. After 65 minutes, Placido Baladi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the O rey Iván and the Club Puerto Quito players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th match minute, O rey Iván was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Placido Baladi to maneuver through the defense. Club Puerto Quito's Pico Garonaga got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the O rey Iván defense, Sergio Piña kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Israel Cesario. The O rey Iván fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Israel Cesario should have stopped the shot. Urki Espino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Israel Cesario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of O rey Iván booed when Club Puerto Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitin Martin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Cesar Azeari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Urki Espino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Club Puerto Quito's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
