Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Agudo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Puch to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 55th minute of play forced Alianza Trujillo's goalkeeper Tomas Brandt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Miguel in the 61st minute of play. The audience was convinced that José Puch's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game.
