When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. Kingpins's Christer Fernström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Kingpins from getting a goal against them. Kingpins's Christer Fernström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 54th minute of play. Kingpins's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Wim Wilmes 79 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. In the 85th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rickard Lundgren in the 94th minute of play. Nils-Emil Ahlstedt hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. After having played for 96 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kingpins throughout the match.
