Spain's Gabriel Ascaso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Spain from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Toledo in the 5th minute of play forced Espen Steelers's goalkeeper Fabian Honauer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Honauer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adria Bielsa in the 8th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Omar Toledo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Espen Steelers's Fabian Honauer. Fabian Honauer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Vicente Merino came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Spain fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Merino couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute of the game Santiago Sartori made a throw-in which Vicente Merino played forward. Fabian Honauer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Aranda in the 21st minute of play. Jon Cubero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 33rd minute of the game Santiago Sartori made a throw-in which Omar Toledo played forward. After some careless play in the Espen Steelers defense, Omar Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabian Honauer. The Espen Steelers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabian Honauer should have stopped the shot. After 38 played minutes Spain got a freekick which was hit by Israel Jurado. Spain's Gabriel Ascaso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Williams Imholz in the 39th minute of play. Espen Steelers's Fabian Honauer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Toledo in the 42nd minute of play. Fabian Honauer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Toledo in the 45th minute of the match. Nino Schurter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Ascaso having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Omar Toledo was the one to do the kick off. Omar Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Fabian Honauer made a huge save. Espen Steelers's Nino Schurter got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alain Berset might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabriel Ascaso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alain Berset ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alain Berset, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute of the match Spain got a corner. Espen Steelers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Omar Toledo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Spain's corner Omar Toledo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fabian Honauer quite easily take care of the ball. Gabriel Ascaso came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Espen Steelers's Alain Berset. But to his dismay, Alain Berset quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Calistrat Velicu charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calistrat Velicu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 67 played minutes Espen Steelers got a freekick which was hit by Calistrat Velicu. Espen Steelers's Rogelio Montez was substituted for Alain Berset. Espen Steelers's Roman Beljean was substituted for Alberto Giacometti. A collision led to Espen Steelers getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Calistrat Velicu hit a great ball. Fabian Honauer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carles Cherro in the 69th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nino Schurter in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gabriel Ascaso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Spain booed when Espen Steelers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nino Schurter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Spain made a substitution. Sergio Ruiz replaced Adria Bielsa. After a rather tough play, Espen Steelers's Nino Schurter got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 88th minute, Ingo Minder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute, Jon Cubero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Spain booed when Espen Steelers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Williams Imholz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabian Honauer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Ruiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
