Olexiy Stus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Juventus FC's goalkeeper Olexiy Stus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vörös Henrik's late challenge caught a Juventus FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vörös Henrik helped the player get up and apologised. After 10 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Vörös Henrik. Fodor Daniel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robertinho Baggio in the 11th minute. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Åke Pilberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olexiy Stus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Katona Janos in the 19th minute of play forced Juventus FC's goalkeeper Olexiy Stus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olexiy Stus having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Juventus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hegedus Henrik came free, but Olexiy Stus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Hungary booed when Juventus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Motyka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robertinho Baggio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fodor Daniel firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Bengt-Åke Pilberg came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Juventus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bengt-Åke Pilberg couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute, Hegedus Henrik ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olexiy Stus was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Olexiy Stus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Juventus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Balazs Lajos came free, but Olexiy Stus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robertinho Baggio made a kick off. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Juventus FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Antal Valentin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Olexiy Stus quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Juventus FC's Olexiy Stus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Juventus FC from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Åke Pilberg came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olexiy Stus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juventus FC's Gennadiy Tytarchuk was substituted for Zbyszek Sierocki. In the 61st minute Robertinho Baggio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. With a little luck, Juventus FC's Olexiy Stus got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gaspar Laredo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th match minute, Juventus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Motyka to maneuver through the defense. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robertinho Baggio in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fodor Daniel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Antal Valentin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Olexiy Stus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robertinho Baggio struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Fodor Daniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventus FC. When Gaspar Laredo came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Juventus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Laredo couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Hungary could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Juventus FC throughout the match.
