Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Antal Valentin kicked off to start the match. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrik Lingren, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute Hegedus Henrik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Björkdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Folke Björkdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Folke Björkdal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antal Valentin's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sotiris Koupepes. In the 15th minute, Patrik Lingren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 21st minute of play forced Wolverhampton's goalkeeper Folke Björkdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Folke Björkdal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 23rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Major Barna in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Folke Björkdal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute Takacs Tibor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Björkdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Hungary's Takacs Tibor, in the 31st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. In the 34th match minute, Wolverhampton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bengt-Rune Mellbad to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Hungary's Fodor Daniel got control of the ball when Sotiris Koupepes tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Wolverhampton's Sotiris Koupepes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fodor Daniel. That made the score 1-0 after 36 minutes of play. Folke Björkdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Patrik Lingren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Folke Björkdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Sotiris Koupepes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sotiris Koupepes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Patrik Lingren was slow to take the kick. During this time Wolverhampton's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Patrik Lingren almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel did a great save. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Lingren in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Wolverhampton's Åke Söderqwist got a free kick in the 60th minute. Wolverhampton's Sven-Ove Askestät was substituted for Patrik Lingren. In the 61st match minute, Wolverhampton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Åke Söderqwist to maneuver through the defense. Antal Valentin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Folke Björkdal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Wolverhampton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sotiris Koupepes to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the game, Wolverhampton's Sotiris Koupepes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fodor Daniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Major Barna took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Folke Björkdal. Folke Björkdal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 74 minutes into the match, Sotiris Koupepes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fodor Daniel. Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sotiris Koupepes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Sotiris Koupepes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fodor Daniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Antal Valentin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Sotiris Koupepes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sotiris Koupepes in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, Wolverhampton could leave the field as winners, despite Hungary having more of the ball for most of the match.
