In the 23rd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Eikelkamp to maneuver through the defense. Alzaga FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 33 minutes into the game, Mathijn Doctor threw the ball into play from the sideline. Alzaga FC's Ovidio Bautista quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Leon Goretzkas short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Arnout Reekers to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Goretzka, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the match, Alzaga FC's Leon Goretzka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnout Reekers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
