Hernan Fernanco came out of the goal and Wim Wilmes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Honorio Mikeldi sent off a good shot on target. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Hernan Fernanco however easily saved by the left post. The corner ended in Gijsbert ter Kruimer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Expreso del oeste's Hernan Fernanco did a great save. Gijsbert ter Kruimer got in the 55th minute a good position and tried a long shot which to a great surprise passed a very astonished Hernan Fernanco. This was a shot which ended in a score of 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Constantino Lartaun in the 57th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Expreso del oeste's goalkeeper Hernan Fernanco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. 62 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Constantino Lartaun came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Honorio Mikeldi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hernan Fernanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
