Frank Sachs went to the cornerflag to take it. 25 minutes into the match, America Futebol Clube SP's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Nildo Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of America Futebol Clube SP booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Mergenthaler didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Souza. Fausto de Souza took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Sachs in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nildo Lara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute, Albin Holweck made a precise shot to the right of Nildo Lara. America Futebol Clube SP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Albin Holweck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nildo Lara having to interfere. After a rather tough play, America Futebol Clube SP's Juan do Vale got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute Pedrinho Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frank Sachs might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nildo Lara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Sachs ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Frank Sachs made the kick off in the second half. Nicolas Souza scored 2-2 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. America Futebol Clube SP's Nildo Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albin Holweck in the 59th minute of play. After some careless play in the America Futebol Clube SP defense, Albin Holweck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nildo Lara. The America Futebol Clube SP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nildo Lara should have stopped the shot. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolas Souza's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Juan do Vale hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. America Futebol Clube SP's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Veiga in the 98th minute. Malte Schiele thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Tommy Kahn, a very annoying self made goal in the 99th minute which led to 3-3.
