An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavius Pârâianu in the 23rd minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iurie Chiriacescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 25th minute of play. Antal Valentin scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iurie Chiriacescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aurelian Acalinei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Fodor Daniel made a huge save. 39 minutes into the game, Hungary's Antal Valentin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iurie Chiriacescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filip Vlaicu was slow to take the kick. During this time AC MiLaN's players had a chance to rest. Filip Vlaicu made a great header on AC MiLaN's corner, it was just that Hungary's Fodor Daniel managed to reach the ball for a save. Antal Valentin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iurie Chiriacescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Flavius Pârâianu was the one to do the kick off. Iurie Chiriacescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Iurie Chiriacescu in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute, Balazs Lajos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iurie Chiriacescu was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Antal Valentin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Antal Valentin really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. In the 83rd minute Basarab Avram shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
