Jimmie Boström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donald May read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. One of R9Forwards:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Real Galaxy:s goal. Andre Dickson shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. Maximilian Rosin charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maximilian Rosin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to R9Forwards getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Maximilian Rosin hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jimmie Boström to strike the kick off in the second half. If Jimmie Boström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th match minute, Real Galaxy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andre Dickson to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Real Galaxy's Donald May got control of the ball when Jimmie Boström tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dwight Dotson in the 85th minute of play forced R9Forwards's goalkeeper Marko Magnusson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute, Real Galaxy's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jimmie Boström fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The Real Galaxy fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. R9Forwards were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
