But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão de Barros couldn't finish the play. Xan Descapa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristóvão de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arturo Bondi got free with Xan Descapa in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Cristóvão de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 31 minutes, Joaquin Loredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ornopata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquin Loredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Fazendinha's zone, Daniel Oñatibia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximino Acevedo came out of the goal and Daniel Oñatibia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 36 minutes of play, Fazendinha's Cristóvão de Barros made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xan Descapa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrézinho Macedo hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Fazendinha's Maximino Acevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiktor Björnsson in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Andrézinho Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Kleber Chalas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arturo Bondi was the one to do the kick off. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
