The Bengals fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgard Weterio should have stopped the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Bengals's goalkeeper Edgard Weterio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ediberto Sampaio. Edgard Weterio made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Ediberto Sampaio sent off a good shot on target. Edgard Weterio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael Frances in the 35th minute of the match. Merengue FC's Aquiles Urtsin was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 37th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Edgard Weterio came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Merengue FC's Ediberto Sampaio. But to his dismay, Ediberto Sampaio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Aquiles Urtsin took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgard Weterio. Edgard Weterio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 8-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulino Mero to strike the kick off in the second half. Bengals's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aquiles Urtsin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. 64 minutes into the match, Bengals's goal looked a bit too open when Ediberto Sampaio came free, but Edgard Weterio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 minutes of play, Merengue FC's Ediberto Sampaio made it 13-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgard Weterio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edgard Weterio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ediberto Sampaio in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Merengue FC's Ediberto Sampaio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgard Weterio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 14-0. Edgard Weterio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darwin Núñez, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Ediberto Sampaio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgard Weterio was frozen by the shot and now it was 15-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ediberto Sampaio in the 85th minute of play forced Bengals's goalkeeper Edgard Weterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ediberto Sampaio scored 16-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgard Weterio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Merengue FC had played much better football throughout.
