Leo Olsson was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 38 minutes into the match. The goalkeeper, Kristoffer Västerstrand, was totally fooled by BK Tåfjutt's Jörn Barck, who 41 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karol Magdziarz in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristoffer Västerstrand saved Lidköping from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stefan Bogren to make the kick off.
