When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Flavio Maestri sped through Denmark's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Keld Paulsen. After 20 played minutes Deportivo Municipal got a freekick which was hit by Brion Valdespino. If Chris Nygaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Flavio Maestri kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Keld Paulsen. That made the score 3-0 in the 27 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brion Valdespino during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Brion Valdespino kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. If Bertram Svenningsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Bertram Svenningsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Flavio Maestri struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Keld Paulsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Municipal. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Municipal's zone, Mikkel Wulff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ratko Glavak came out of the goal and Mikkel Wulff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flavio Maestri to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Flavio Maestri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Municipal's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavio Maestri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keld Paulsen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ciano Briz kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Flavio Maestri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Keld Paulsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Municipal's zone, Chris Nygaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ratko Glavak came out of the goal and Chris Nygaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deportivo Municipal's Guib Gordejuela was substituted for Celso Tejadillo. Chris Nygaards short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Ratko Glavak to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bertram Svenningsen got free with Ratko Glavak in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes in the game Brion Valdespino did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Flavio Maestri. Brion Valdespino made in the 85th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Flavio Maestri. In the 91st minute Denmark were awarded a corner. Chris Nygaard went to the cornerflag to take it. Deportivo Municipal's Ratko Glavak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 94th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Deportivo Municipal could leave the field as winners, despite Denmark having more of the ball for most of the match.
