If Maximino Cabezon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 9th minute of the match, Maximino Cabezon tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Casper Claes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 12 minutes into the game, Maximino Cabezon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Casper Claes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 15thth minute of the game Edward Vanderstraeten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ACF Fiorentina's Claudinei Velloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the ACF Fiorentina defense, Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Velloso. The ACF Fiorentina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Velloso should have stopped the shot. Maximino Cabezon scored 2-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Casper Claes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nigel Devos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudinei Velloso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute Maximino Cabezon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Guillaume Bonte hit a great ball. 49 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Maximino Cabezon came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maximino Cabezon to make the kick off. Laurens Vandamme hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Maximino Cabezon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Casper Claes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ACF Fiorentina made a substitution. Federico Teofilio replaced Rigoberto Rozarius. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Laurens Vandamme hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the game, Federico Teofilio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Casper Claes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Belgium booed when ACF Fiorentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciriaco Urdaspal didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, ACF Fiorentina's Claudinei Velloso got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Horia Anisie kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. ACF Fiorentina had won after a very even match.
