With a little luck, AUcimont's Batıkan Özata got control of the ball when Bartolo Harkaitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulino Lamberto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Batıkan Özata. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. In the 22nd minute Bartolo Harkaitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Batıkan Özata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petr Schejbal kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. San Martin de Tucuman's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
