Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Numan Tanuğur got free with Arnout Reekers in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Scorpions -MM-'s Berkin Güdü got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saltuk Erva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 18th minute of the match. Gică Popescu hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 20th minute of play forced Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Saltuk Erva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saltuk Erva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berkin Güdü in the 29th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Numan Tanuğur put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Arnout Reekers. Numan Tanuğur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Scorpions -MM-'s Eugeniusz Mochowak got a free kick in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Saltuk Erva. Gustaaf Groeneveldt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. 56 minutes into the match, Scorpions -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Saltuk Erva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wim Wilmes in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saltuk Erva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saltuk Erva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Bas Tuitert got a free kick in the 66th minute. Scorpions -MM-'s Edgar Matela was substituted for Gelu Roșeanu. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Berkin Güdü fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Scorpions -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto-Carlos Sorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Saltuk Erva. Scorpions -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gijsbert ter Kruimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Saltuk Erva made a huge save. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Saltuk Erva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. In the 91st minute Edgar Matela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Matela in the 92nd minute of play. Wim Wilmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Saltuk Erva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. Bas Tuitert charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bas Tuitert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Netherlands! Netherlands:s Arnout Reekers showed great skill when he stopped Ionică Sinulescu:s penalty. 96 minutes into the game, Ionică Sinulescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
