The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Major Barna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Niclas Björk having to make a save. In the 6th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niclas Björk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 7 minutes Di Röe's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antal Valentin who took care of the corner kick. In the 8th minute Balazs Lajos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niclas Björk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Karl-Åke Almqvist fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Di Röe's protests and gave Karl-Åke Almqvist a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Di Röe's Karl-Åke Almqvist got a free kick in the 8th minute. Major Barna took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niclas Björk. Niclas Björk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Balazs Lajos in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niclas Björk saved Di Röe from getting behind. Roger Hasselqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Major Barna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 29th minute Jonny Alströmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Hungary booed when Di Röe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Staffan Wikander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niclas Björk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 39th minute of play. Niclas Björk came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Hungary's Major Barna. But to his dismay, Major Barna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 44th minute, Antal Valentin made a precise shot to the right of Niclas Björk. Di Röe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 47th minute, Katona Janos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antal Valentin to make the kick off. Hungary's Major Barna was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 54th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Balazs Lajos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, Di Röe's Niclas Björk got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niclas Björk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Major Barna got free with Niclas Björk in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Balazs Lajos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Niclas Björk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Di Röe getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Erling Hellsing hit a great ball. Niclas Björk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 77th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Hungary's Major Barna ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Niclas Björk. Niclas Björk yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. Niclas Björk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Takacs Tibor, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Niclas Björk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niclas Björk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Major Barna in the 92nd minute. Antal Valentin struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Niclas Björk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. Antal Valentin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Niclas Björk firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Di Röe fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hungary were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
