When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Alvaro Sforza sped through Linhartice's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Petr Kladiva. Cristoforo Brillante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Astor Faro in the 9th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Della Francesca in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petr Kladiva saved Linhartice from getting behind. Cristoforo Brillante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Čech, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Sforza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Petr Kladiva having to make a save. 74 minutes into the match, Linhartice's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Sforza came free, but Petr Kladiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AC Roma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Sforza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Orhan Veli Ulukan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan Mojžíš kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. AC Roma's Cristoforo Brillante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orhan Veli Ulukan in the 94th minute of play. Alvaro Sforza might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petr Kladiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
