After 41 minutes Defensores de Lombroso's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Atilano Tonio who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Levente Végh almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin did a great save. Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adamantios Geronimidis in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Defensores de Lombroso made a substitution. Amadeo Raebert replaced Roman Riquelme. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Mergildo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adamantios Geronimidis in the 60th minute of play. Lionel-Andrés Messi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Denis Paulin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adamantios Geronimidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 71 minutes into the game, Levente Végh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Denis Paulin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A sloppy throw-in by Jorge Videla in the 76th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Defensores de Lombroso's Federico Pirro. 82 minutes into the match, C.A. LANUS's goalkeeper Cristian Mergildo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Federico Pirro. Defensores de Lombroso's Celso Sauveur was substituted for Lionel-Andrés Messi. In the 85th minute Defensores de Lombroso were awarded a corner. Godfredo Gau went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Federico Pirro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cristian Mergildo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 87th minute Elvis Crespo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Paulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Paulin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adamantios Geronimidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Adamantios Geronimidis made a precise shot to the right of Denis Paulin. Defensores de Lombroso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1.
