After a rather tough play, MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's Sorin Gurlui got a free kick in the 31st minute. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes in the game Chris Mergenthaler did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Frank Sachs. The audience thought a goal was coming when Liviu Frumușanu got free with Tommy Kahn in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chris Mergenthaler took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dinu Oardă. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ernest Oprescu charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernest Oprescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ernest Oprescu hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV were the better team. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
