The referee gave Puerto de Sagunto CF a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Richmond Van Glabeeke, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 22nd minute of play forced Puerto de Sagunto CF's goalkeeper Gong Yong Nan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florentino Checa made in the 26th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. Puerto de Sagunto CF's Gong Yong Nan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 30th minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. 81 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Richmond Van Glabeeke came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Richmond Van Glabeeke heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richmond Van Glabeeke in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Richmond Van Glabeeke notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 91st minute, Richmond Van Glabeeke left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Puerto de Sagunto CF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Gong Yong Nan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graciano Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Puerto de Sagunto CF were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Portugal for a fine match.
