In the 18th minute of the match, Witold Lepucki got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arnout Reekers was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Veth Crystals getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Angel-Enrique De La Rosa-Choca hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 21st minute of play forced Veth Crystals's goalkeeper Roland Czerniejewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Witold Lepucki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. In the 25th minute, Edward Oliszewski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Veth Crystals's Witold Lepucki ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Netherlands's David Eikelkamp managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bartosz Lizewski in the 32 minute of the game. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. 1-1 became the score in the 47th minute when Gijsbert ter Kruimer elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After 54 minutes, Barnaba Kisiel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Veth Crystals and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Veth Crystals getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Barnaba Kisiel hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, Veth Crystals was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Bullon to maneuver through the defense. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Witold Lepucki went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Bartosz Lizewski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Bartosz Lizewski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartosz Lizewski in the 68th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roland Czerniejewski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartosz Lizewski in the 77th minute of play. Netherlands's Sijmen Clous was substituted for David Eikelkamp.
