The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fidan SK's Abdi Saygın Taykut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 15th minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rauf Özalp in the 16th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Sabri Elçioğlu sped through Netherlands's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands played a much better game than Fidan SK and deserved their victory. The Fidan SK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
