The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Frank Sachs a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th minute, Frank Sachs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tosh Higginson in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Zak Crocker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the game, Hythe United Rangers's Tosh Higginson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tosh Higginson made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Tosh Higginson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zak Crocker in the 94th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damien Letheren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hythe United Rangers walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
