Frode Tobiassen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. After having played for 35 minutes, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antal Valentin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Boros Benedek kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Markham to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Christer Ribe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Hungary's Antal Valentin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Leif Opdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brufoss IL made a substitution. Nils-Arne Bruvik replaced Kevin Strømsnes. Brufoss IL's Asbjørn Sigurdsen was substituted for Anders Elstad. Kai Østbye kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Hungary booed when Brufoss IL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakob Lode didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Jan-Kenneth Heistad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Balazs Norbert got a free kick in the 94th minute. When the match was over Hungary could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Brufoss IL throughout the match.
