When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sped through AS Monaco FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roch Puch. Roch Puch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roch Puch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mieszko Fujara kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 18 played minutes, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roch Puch came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Netherlands reached it. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Roch Puch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkadiusz Piatek, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. AS Monaco FC's Roch Puch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 25th minute of play. Arkadiusz Piatek kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, AS Monaco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Roch Puch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th play minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Roch Puch. 0-2. 58 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Arkadiusz Piatek came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Roch Puch in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to AS Monaco FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Jagan Van Landschoot hit a great ball. After 69 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Mathijn Doctor. Avram Ştef sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Guifre in the 81st minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The AS Monaco FC fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when AS Monaco FC's Jairo Guifre looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The AS Monaco FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
